As a requirement for FC 105, I had to do an exercise called "Your Ideal Life"
It involved questions like "If Money was not object" what would your standard of living be like.
As i answered the questions, I answered some questions in a vanilla kind of boring way.
Example: What kind of car would you be driving on the weekends? At first, I put a mazda miata.
So, thats a nice car, always well received in the roadster community, then after the 2nd step, the exercise requires us to go back through and determine where we might have been too conservative.
So i go back to the miata, and realize... I want an ARIEL ATOM.
This is a real car. It can pull so many g forces, your cheeks will quiver.. the facial ones sicko...
So what is the point of my post? Well not that I am a greedy car-monger who will be charging people excessive fees so i can get my dream car, but that even in a fantasy world, sometimes we shortchange our dreams and aspirations.
I realize, I do that to myself, imagine how many other people do it.
When I was in my 20's only 3 years ago, my friends told me I was a dreamer.
I guess now I have downgraded to a daydreamer.
As a result of the exercise, outcome number one is to dream big again.
2nd outcome: Rank all ideal life areas, and pick the most important.
Turns out my goals for Family and Relationships was number one.
Within that subcategory, I decided that my relationship with my wife was number one.
You know reaching those goals are achievable TODAY!
By the end of this week, i commit towards reaching my ideal life by improving my relationship with my wife.
I know it's possible and it will be done.
The Ideal life isn't for dreamers, but its for realists as well. Its for people who love making to do lists and accomplishing things.
There is something to be said for checking off item number one on a long list of things to do.
You deserve your ideal life. Believe in that.
Dream Big
And get started on item number 1!
